1. Booking & Vehicle Compatibility
- All hires are subject to vehicle and roof rack compatibility check.
- It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure their vehicle’s dynamic roof load rating (the weight capacity while moving) is sufficient for the hired equipment.
- We reserve the right to cancel a booking if the vehicle or roof rack system is deemed unsafe or unsuitable during the pre-fitment check or appointment.
2. Security Deposit & Payment
- Full hire payment must be cleared prior to or on the date of collection.
- A £750 security deposit is required at the time of fitment before the equipment leaves our workshop.
- The deposit will be refunded in full within 5–7 working days of return, subject to inspection of the equipment.
- Deductions will be made from the deposit for missing components, excessive dirt requiring specialist cleaning, or damage beyond normal wear and tear.
3. Collection, Fitment & Return
- Fitment and demonstration take place strictly by appointment at our Royston workshop.
- The hirer or an authorized representative must be present for the installation and safety briefing (approx. 45–60 minutes).
- Equipment must be returned to our Royston workshop on or before the agreed return date and time. Late returns without prior agreement will incur a daily fee equivalent to the full daily hire rate plus a £50 administrative charge.
4. Hirer Responsibility & Equipment Care
- Once installed, the hirer is responsible for checking that all fixings and latches remain secure throughout the hire period.
- The equipment must not be altered, modified, or transferred to another vehicle without prior written consent.
- Under no circumstances should cooking equipment, open flames, or heaters be used inside or directly adjacent to the tent.
- Pets and smoking are strictly prohibited inside the rooftop tent unless explicitly permitted in writing.
5. Insurance & Liability
- The hirer assumes full responsibility for the safety and security of the equipment during the hire period.
- Loss, theft, or irreparable damage to the tent or fitment hardware is the financial responsibility of the hirer up to the full replacement value (£1,949 RRP).
- We accept no liability for damage to the hirer's vehicle, roof rack, or third-party property caused by driver negligence, failure to maintain secure fixings, or clearance issues (e.g., low bridges or car parks).
6. Others
- Try Before You Buy: If you decide to purchase the equipment following your hire period, both your hire fee and security deposit can be credited towards the purchase price, allowing you to buy the item at an exclusive discounted rate.
- Short-Notice Bookings: If you require the equipment within 14 days of your intended start date, please email support@nomadia.shop prior to booking to confirm stock and workshop availability.
- Add-On Quantity Selection: Please note that quantity controls (+ / -) for add-on items during the booking process adjust the quantity of items requested, not the number of hire days.
